Sculptra is a biocompatible and biodegradable injectable material known as Poly-L-Lactic acid. It naturally stimulates your skin to produce its own collagen. It helps to give a refreshed look by helping to restore the natural contours of your face. It targets the underlying causes of ageing such as collagen loss. Sculptra takes time for the changes to be noticed and can last up to 2 years, however, more than 1 treatment may be needed initially.
The treatment is delivered by a series of injections into the face in the areas required. However, areas such as the lips and glabella region cannot be treated with Sculptra. Sculptra needs some commitment from you as for 1-month post-procedure you must massage the areas treated following instructions from your Nurse.
You would not be suitable for Sculptra if you are allergic to any of the ingredients or have suffered from Keloid scarring. Any active skin conditions will prevent the treatment from being given as will being pregnant, planning a pregnancy and breast-feeding.
