DESO
A substance called deoxycholate is injected into the subcutaneous fat that sits below the skin. A local anaesthetic is injected at the entry point, which will have been mapped out and planned by your Nurse. Once the area is numb, an introducer is used to make a tiny hole through which a cannula is inserted. The Deso is delivered via this cannula into the fat layer. Overtime the fat cells become destroyed and are no longer able to store fat. However, you must maintain a healthy lifestyle, as the remaining fat cells will continue to overfill if not. Your Nurse will assess your suitability for the treatment and advise you of any risks and side effects.
